ACTing Up is a summer intensive theater camp sponsored by Alamance Children's Theatre. This camp provides all the fun and excitement of putting on a great production in just one week! From auditioning to rehearsing, and preparing for the final production, youth will have a great time developing their acting skills. Students will gain skills such as character building, audition etiquette, and behind-the-scenes aspects of theater, while working hard to create the best production possible. Get ready for an action-packed, fast-paced theater adventure as students come together to memorize lines, learn stage blocking, and go through tech rehearsals just like professionals.
This is a unique experience for both the attendees and the staff. Why? Because the program is taught entirely by student-actors themselves. The entire camp, from registration to final curtain, is led by Alamance Children's Theatre's Youth Board Members, allowing for a unique leadership opportunity for these high school students to become more involved in their community.
This program is for all children: experienced, inexperienced, shy, or confident. It is perfect for your young actor who wants to get into theater, and it is a great way to meet new people, acquire new skills, or even brush up on some rusty ones. We hope to see your child for a fun week of theater, music, and dance that will really have your child ACTing Up!
